A Fully Comprehensive Digital Platform for Tier 3
We at CharacterStrong are excited to introduce our Tier 3 Solution, a groundbreaking addition to our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) offerings. Our solution provides educators with vertically-aligned curricula and training that encompass Tier 1, Tier 2, and now Tier 3 levels, catering to students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12.
Key features of the Tier 3 Solution include:
- Digital Platform with Easy-to-Access Resources: Our CST3 platform at CharacterStrong offers educators a user-friendly interface, giving them access to a variety of resources, including skill-focused supports, function-based environmental supports, student workbooks, fidelity tools, progress monitoring capabilities, and professional development modules.
- Reduced Burden: The platform guides educators through the process of identifying root causes to select and personalize supports to the unique needs of students, streamlining the Tier 3 service delivery process. Data collection capabilities and access to resources to deliver Tier 3 support lessens administrative burdens and reduces the time required to plan and deliver support.
- Ongoing Professional Development: Recognizing the need for continuous training, CST3 offers both live and asynchronous modules embedded within the platform to support educators in acquiring the competence and confidence to address the complex needs of students who benefit from Tier 3.
- Personalized Support Pathways: A Student Dashboard allows educators to track students receiving personalized support, monitor its effectiveness, and oversee their progress in the Tier 3 process. This feature also enables the monitoring of students' response to intervention using change-sensitive metrics, ensuring tailored assistance for each student's unique needs, including environment and skill support to promote behavioral success and mental health in school.
What Problem is Tier 3 Solving?
The launch of the Tier 3 Solution comes at a critical time, as recent data indicates a significant increase in social, emotional, and behavioral needs among students, exacerbated by the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Research shows that 1 out of 3 students experience mental health difficulties that impact daily life functioning.
While not all of these students need Tier 3 support, there are a significant number of students who need access to more intensive support. On average, there are roughly 3-5% of students in a given school who need more intensive support yet educators often feel under-equipped to meet these needs. This is why CharacterStrong's solution aims to provide ongoing access to professional development and the tools that boost educator competence and confidence to implement a sustainable and effective approach to addressing the needs of students who require Tier 3 support.
"We understand the immense challenges educators face in supporting students with more intense needs," said Dr. Clayton Cook, Chief Development Officer at CharacterStrong. "Our Tier 3 Solution is designed to empower educators with the tools, resources, and ongoing support they need to effectively address these challenges and create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students."
A Cost-Effective Alternative
In addition to benefiting students and educators, CharacterStrong's Tier 3 Solution is a cost-effective alternative in comparison to traditional interventions, reducing the need for outsourcing services, hiring additional staff who function with limited clarity, and out-of-school placements.
