Meet the Team
The CharacterStrong Team is a partnership of educators, speakers, and students who believe in creating sustainable change in schools and helping young people develop the skills of service, kindness, and empathy.
John is the Program Administrator for Student Leadership & Community Involvement for the Sumner School District, a Servant Leadership trainer, and motivational speaker. He was Washington Advisor of the Year and taught 5 leadership classes per semester for 10 years at Sumner High School.
Houston Kraft is a professional speaker, leadership consultant, and kindness advocate who speaks to middle schools, high schools, colleges, and businesses nationally. He has spoken at over 500 events and counting. Student Body President in High School, Class President at Bowdoin College, Leadership Camp Staff for 12 years in Washington - he is a lifelong learner of character, culture, kindness, and leadership.
Lindsay was a teacher of 10 years and a senior class advisor who passionately advocates for students and promotes the teaching of character in the classroom. She has witnessed her previous school's culture shift from an average school to a place where students are accepted and loved because of the teachings of character and servant-leadership. She believes all schools can experience this same type of transformation! She helps make sure your CharacterStrong experience is joyful and smooth.
Kelby Kilburn helps to connect the dots between CharacterStrong and the schools we serve (or are working to serve!) He helps manage the various projects we have going on at all times. He is a student of this work - Student Body President in High School and has been a full time employee of the Choose Love Movement for over 2 years. He firmly believes that all students in this country deserve the opportunity to have conversations about Love, compassion, and character and is working tirelessly to make that happen.
