Forgiveness Experiment

June 9, 2017 Morgan Grimm

Summary:

Part 1: Science of Happiness Team brings in people and asks them to think of someone that they are holding a grudge or resentment against, to write down what it is that has bothered them and what they would say to forgive if they could. They then have the people read their letters in front of a mirror.

Part 2: Brother calls his sister to read letter seeking forgiveness and restoration.

Debrief:

  • What does it mean to forgive?
  • To whom would you write a forgiveness letter?
  •  What is separating the brother and sister? How does he start to bridge that gap?
